Mayurasana

Benefits

This asana improves digestion, activates manipura chakra, cures stomach related problems and strengthens wrists, hands and the abdominal muscles.

Process:

  • Sit in Vajrasana.
  • Come up on your knees.
  • Place the palms on the ground with fingers pointing towards the feet.
  • Bring the elbows together while keeping the upper arms parallel to the ground.
  • Rest your stomach on the elbows.
  • Straighten the legs and raise the knees and feet above the ground.
  • Bring the upper body and legs in one line.
  • Relax your face muscles and be aware of the breathing.
  • Remain here for as long as you can.

Caution: People with hands and stomach problems should do this asana with caution. First timers, should do this asana under supervision.
